Fight the bracken: Help save local ‘Heritage at Risk’ sites

Morecambe Bay Partnership is seeking volunteers to help fight vegetation, which is threatening nationally important ’Heritage at Risk’ sites on Birkrigg Common, near Ulverston. A brand new electric bike network, developed by Morecambe Bay Partnership, and run by local businesses, is launching around Morecambe Bay this summer, in a bid to open up the spectacular coastline and hinterland of South Lakes and North Lancashire, for residents and visitors to explore.

The Morecambe Bay Electric Bike Network provides the perfect way to explore the villages, towns, countryside and coastline of Morecambe Bay’s stunning landscape with the subtle but powerful assistance of an electric bike - without the strain of steep inclines or having to break a sweat!

Conserving the Bay's Birds

The vast numbers of birds we see on the coast in the autumn and winter are a familiar sight. They make the Bay unique and we want to conserve those special places where the birds gather at high tide. However, in recent years, numbers have declined.

Do you enjoy spending time on the coast for work or play? Are you a walker, birdwatcher, local business? Or do you simply have an interest in birds and enjoy being out and about around the Bay?
