On the Move : Past, Present & Future
Saturday 9th August, 11 - 3pm
Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands
FREE
Hosted by PEAT (Peninsula Environmental Action Together,) ‘On the Move – Past, Present and Future’ marks the culmination of the ‘Let’s Talk - The Future of Transport and Travel on the Cartmel Peninsula’ project rethinking transport and travel.
This free, fun, family-friendly event will feature a wide variety of travel themed interactive activities aiming to get people thinking about how our community moves around. Activities will include:
- Arts and crafts creating imaginative transport from the future
- Pedal powered fun including Scalextric
- Bike Doctor stall
- Heritage transport displays
- Refreshments & entertainment
The event will also feature key findings from the project so far, showcasing the voices and ideas gathered from across the Peninsula over recent months. From young people and commuters to older residents, visitors and those with limited mobility, the project has heard from a wide range of perspectives on what’s working, and what’s not, when it comes to local transport.
As part of the event, Morecambe Bay Partnership is also inviting people to imagine the nearby coastline in 2050 and collecting aspirations and ideas for a more sustainable future. Come and share you views.
All are welcome. Whether you rely on buses, cycle, walk, drive, or struggle to get where you need to go, join in the fun and share your experiences and ideas to help shape what comes next.
The ‘Let’s Talk – The Future of Travel and Transport on the Cartmel Peninsula’ project and this event have been delivered in collaboration with Morecambe Bay Partnership, Deliberate CIC, Grange Town Council and supported by Future Proof Cumbria (formerly CAfS.)
