Historical Skills Training Course

Monday 17th January 2022, 13:00 - Monday 21st February 2022, 16:00

Would you like to improve your skills in historical research, and to learn more about the history of Furness and surrounding areas?

The Victoria County History of Cumbria project and Morecambe Bay Partnership are pleased to announce a new course designed to provide a wide-ranging overview of skills involved in historical research.

The course will last for six weeks, involving four online afternoon sessions, an archival visit and an outdoor landscape history session (subject to Covid guidance and weather conditions at the time). Topics will include historical documents, handwriting, maps, place-names and involvement in a research project.

The course will start on Monday January 17th 2022 and take place on Monday afternoons until Monday 21st February. If you have to miss a session, you will be able to access the materials on a secure online platform.

We are delighted to acknowledge the support of the Cumberland & Westmorland Antiquarian & Archaeological Society, which has made this course possible.
