Outside/Inside: a writing workshop at Sunderland Point with Kay Syrad

This focus of this writing workshop will be the new Horizon Line Chamber, commissioned by Morecambe Bay Partnership and created by artist Chris Drury on Sunderland Point, on the edge of Morecambe Bay between the River Lune and the Irish Sea.

Drury’s camera obscura stone chamber reflects an ever-changing image of the horizon - the mudflats, marsh, sea and sky - upside down.  The writing workshop will begin with a walk to the Chamber, taking in the new bird hide from which we should be able to see a great variety of wading birds, and the historically significant grave (1796); and will continue with a contemplation of the subtle movements between our inner and outer worlds. Having gathered ideas and words from all this rich material, we will be able to experiment with various forms of poetry and prose writing.

Writers at all levels welcome. Tickets free but booking essential: BOOK HERE

Please bring notebook, pen, camera, packed lunch and wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy boots.

Full details will be sent on booking.
