A Language of Birds

This is a day of birding, observing and writing, of being out on Morecambe Bay and working out our part in it.

All writers – whether just beginning or experienced - are invited to help capture the magic of Morecambe Bay’s wonderful winter birds at creative writing workshop hosted by Morecambe Bay Partnership.

Join local writer Sarah Hymas and Morecambe Bay Partnership to get to know the wildlife of Sunderland point and transform the experience into a piece of creative writing.

The morning will be spent becoming acquainted with the birds that overwinter here in Morecambe Bay, learning where they’re from and how they’ve adapted to be here.

In the afternoon, we will be indoors beside a real fire, using pens, paper and folded card to explore how we are connected to the birds and the bay and what sense of belonging we may draw from that connection. Whatever words we write will be set into a winged booklet for you to take away with you and keep.
