Dementia Friendly Walk - Silverdale

Easy guided walks for people living with dementia and their carers in Arnside & Silverdale AONB

Meeting Point: Holgates Holiday Park, Cove Road, silverdale, LA5 0SH

Do you know someone living with dementia who would enjoy getting out for a short walk, with their carer, to discover the beautiful landscape, wildlife and culture of the area?

This new summer programme of weekly guided walks aims to help people retain a sense of adventure by getting outdoors and connecting with nature and their community in a safe and secure environment. The walk will last no more than an hour and afterwards there will be a chance to relax over a chat and a cuppa. There is no need to book – just turn up!

Please wear sensible footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather.

For further information you can contact the AONB who are hosting the walks (info@arnsidesilverdaleaonb.org.uk 01524 761034)  or contact the project leader, Feleena Taylor, on 07474588585.

This pilot programme is funded through Morecambe Bay Partnership thanks to the Heritage Fund. Huge thanks to all who buy Lotto tickets. Training has been provided through Dementia Adventure.
