This existing permissive footpath along the embankment of the old railway line between Arnside and Milnthorpe has wonderful views over the saltmarsh and Kent Estuary to Whitbarrow Scar and South Lakeland. Apart from the short but steep tarmac ramp which leads from the car park to the top of the embankment the surface is generally fairly level and easy to use.
