HM Treasury Announcement on CCF

23 Aug 2013 Fund increased for 2014 and extended to 2016

Morecambe Bay was one of the first areas to benefit from the Coastal Comunities Fund.  In August 2013, it was announced that next year's Fund will be increased by 5% and so worth £29 million.  And also that the Fund will be extended to 2016.

The Coastal Communities Fund distributes offshore wind farm revenues.   It is administered by HM Treasury in partnership with the Big Lottery.  It was launched in 2012 to invest in seaside towns and villages.

Our 700 Days Scheme is grant funded by the Scheme, bringing £0.5M investment to Morecambe Bay.  This tourism initiative will give a boost to the whole Bay area by stimulating economic growth.

Many of the other Coastal Communities Fund Schemes are in the South or East of England.

We want to see more Coastal Communities Funding benefiting our region's coastal communities.  We'd love to hear of strong applications coming from the North West for future years.
