In February 2009, the Morecambe Bay
Partnership published a prospectus entitled
Headlands to Headspace which lays
out the opportunity presented by the Bay-wide programme.

In addition, three short pieces of scoping work
have been completed in 2008 looking at the Bay-wide programme for
the Morecambe Bay and Duddon area. These are below.

In spring 2008, Genecon were commissioned to assess whether
the concept for a new regional park for Morecambe Bay and Duddon had
sufficient merit to progress further.
Their study, concludes that a regional park
would benefit the area by providing better collaboration and providing
impetus to some strategic projects that might otherwise not succeed.

During 2007'08, post
graduate students from the University of Liverpool Department of Civic
Design prepared detailed Area Action Plans for Morecambe Bay.

In September 2008, the Regional Parks
Exchange arranged an Expert Group visit to Morecambe Bay.
