Liverpool University, Post Graduate Students' Work on the Morecambe Bay and Duddon Regional Park Concept

40 postgraduate students from the Department of Civic Design undertook a study of the Morecambe Bay and Duddon Regional Park between October 2007 and June 2008 and developed Area Action Plans.

Brief:

Working with the Morecambe Bay Partnership  , help to move forward the Morecambe Bay and Duddon Estuary Regional Park initiative and, in particular

  • Develop the understanding of the park area, its challenges, issues and opportunities
  • Aid the production of the compelling arguments for the park concept and its business case
  • Provide fresh, stimulating, innovative and thought provoking ideas for the development of the park, and
  • Provide an opportunity for students to apply their plan making skills in a practical context.

The overview report provides an excellent starting point to this work.  It

  • compiles some of the concepts into a bay-wide context; 
  • provides summaries of each area action plan and
