Cedric
Robinson's book....
40 Years on Morecambe Bay
Cedric Robinson, celebrated his 40th year as the Queen's Guides
to the Sands in 2003. Cedric is the is the 25th person
to hold the position since the first Duchy of
Lancaster appointment in 1536.
A local fisherman who has
lived in the area all his life, Cedric knows the
ever-changing sands like the back of his hand.
He guides people safely across the unpredictable
sands, passing on his knowledge and memories.
Cedric has appeared in TV
programmes about the Bay, received an honorary
masters degree and in 1999 received an MBE from the
Queen for his services. He and his wife Olive
were the first Honorary Life Members of the
Morecambe Bay Partnership.
