Postcards, 8 fantastic designs celebrating the Bay

Cedric Robinson's new book....

40 Years on Morecambe Bay

Cedric Robinson, 70 this year, celebrates his 40th year as the Queen's Guides to the Sands.  Cedric is the is the 25th person to hold the position since the first Duchy of Lancaster appointment in 1536.

A local fisherman who has lived in the area all his life, Cedric knows the ever-changing sands like the back of his hand.  He guides people safely across the unpredictable sands, passing on his knowledge and memories.

Cedric has appeared in TV programmes about the Bay, received an honorary masters degree and in 1999 received an MBE from the Queen for his services.  He and his wife Olive were the first Honorary Life Members of the Morecambe Bay Partnership.

When asked, Cedric will tell you a highlight was guiding the coach and horses driven by HRH Duke of Edinburgh; but you can tell he has loved every minute spent on the sands.  Who can blame him!

Read his fascinating story in the new book '40 years on Morecambe Bay'.
