BeachCare Programme
What is BeachCare
BeachCare is the first stage
of The Morecambe Bay
Partnership Community Outreach Programme designed to
make a positive difference to people around
Morecambe Bay.
How BeachCare works
§
Raising the
profile of their group through local publicity
Why BeachCare?
Using the environment as a
tool for community development is well established.
BeachCare will show that direct action results in
benefit to the communities of Morecambe Bay in the
following ways:
·
Encouraging communities to work
together on a local project.
·
Building and improving opportunities,
training and self-esteem of disenfranchised groups
through beach stewardship.
·
By improving directly the appearance
of the coastline and the quality of the environment
through reduced litter.
·
Cleaner beaches and improved access
will lead to increased tourism and associated
economic benefits.
Who can get involved?
Anyone interested in making a
positive difference to their local community can
take part. From schools groups through to allowing
BeachCare to compliment existing employee
volunteering schemes. To become involved in
BeachCare is to become involved in your local
community.
