The 2004 AGM and 14th Morecambe Bay Partnership Conference was held at
the Elms Hotel, Morecambe on 21 October
2004.
Over 130 people were present, including:
members of the partnership; Parish and County
Councillors; students from Blackpool and Fylde
College; and many residents and representatives from
local organisations.
Captain John Green stood down as Chair or the
Conference, but will continue in the role of
Vice-chair. Captain Graham MacLean accepted
the Chair for future events.
Honorary Life Membership was
awarded to Captain Green in recognition of his
outstanding commitment to the work of the
Morecambe Bay Partnership; the excellent
balance of leadership and grace with which he
has chaired the Partnership's conferences and
seminars from 1999 to 2004; his generous
support for the development of the
Partnership, and for his tremendous work with
the RNLI, merchant shipping and many other
local initiatives.

afternoon session featured workshops on:
Philosophy in schools, Thinking on the Edge; the North West Coastal Trail;
Grange Regeneration; Canatxx Gas Storage; and
Sharks in the Bay.
