Cross Bay Walk

Friday 12 August 2005, Arnside to Grange-over-Sands

The Morecambe Bay Partnership is organising a Cross Bay Walk to offer our supporters, partners and anyone interested in the work we do, the opportunity to meet the staff and trustees in a relaxed, informal environment and have a chat. 

The 8 mile walk will leave Arnside at 10am and should arrive in Grange-over-Sands at around 1.30pm.  

The walk takes you along the foreshore and through woodland behind Blackstone Point emerging onto the saltmarsh at White Creek.  You then head out into the Bay and soon reach the channel of the River Kent.  Crossing the river is a highlight of the walk - the water level and how tall you are dictate whether you paddle or wade thigh deep!  Halfway across the Bay you stop for a rest.  This is a great place to take in the beautiful surroundings, and to enjoy the sense of space.  The walk then meanders across the sands and comes ashore at Kents Bank Station.

Registration Fee

We are asking walkers to register with us and we will be asking for a suggested donation of £5 for adults and £2.50 for children to cover our costs. We will also have sponsor forms available if people would like to get sponsored for the event.
