Bay Partnership Cross Bay Walk - 9 June 2007
Conditions
were absolutely perfect for our walk in June
this year. Around 200 friends and colleagues
joined the staff and of the Partnership to enjoy the unique experience of a walk over the sands.
Our thanks to everyone who took part and and thanks
too to Cedric Robinson who guided us across the sands
and the Kent Channel.
In 2008 we intend to organise a walk across the Leven
Estuary including a visit to Chapel
Island. Today
this Leven Estuary crossing is done much less often
than the Kent Estuary crossing and yet it is also
unique and fascinating.
The
Leven Estuary is adjacent to the Kent - but to the
west. The Leven being the river that drains from
Windermere. The walk would start from near
Ulverston.
