Next Beach Cleans

Everyone is welcome although under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.  We provide all equipment, but please wear old clothing. It's a good idea to bring a wind-proof layer as it is often breezy on the coast.

Sat 10 May,  Meet at VVV Health Club, Hest Bank, clean-up of Shingle opposite golf course
10 am - 12 noon. Meet in the Health Club car park, (at GR 462 659) on the A5015 just south of Hest Bank.

Sat 24 May, Silverdale Cove, 10-12 noon

Sat 31 May,  Piel Island - a great day out. Meet at Snab Point at 11.30 to sign in.  
A guided walk to the island with a litter pick. 
Bring a picnic if you want, the bar is expected to be open. We hope it will be a lovely day. 
Finish by 3.30 pm. 
Directions: travel south down Walney Island and look for Beach Clean Parking signs.  There's not much parking at Snab Point - so some will need to please park at Wylock Marsh (SD196641), and walk along to Snab point.  Meet at Snab Point SD209639.

This clean up is being held in partnership with
 NW Kite Surfing and will help make sure the place is looking good for the National Kite Surfers Championships here from 13-15 June.

Successes 

Since June 2003, 2,917 people have taken part in 152 events, mainly, but not exclusively, beach cleans.  We have removed nearly 25 tonnes of waste from local beaches and more than 4000 items have been recycled.
