The 2005 AGM and 15th Morecambe Bay Partnership Conference was held at Barrow Town Hall on 20 October 2005.

Around 90 people were present, half were members of the Partnership and a there were representatives from a wide range of local organisations. 

The conference heard updates and reviews on 

  • cockle & mussel fisheries from Steve Atkins, of the North West & North Wales Sea Fisheries Committee; 
  • the Morecambe Bay Partnership's work and plans from Susannah Bleakley
  • the Regional Spatial Strategy from Michael Gallagher , NW Regional Assembly 
  • the Barrow Port Masterplan including marina proposals from Mike Baker, West Lakes Renaissance
  • BeachCare and the future plans for the programme from Susannah Bleakley and 
  • the dynamic estuary from Ged McAllister, Lancaster City Engineers.
