Morecambe Bay fishing oral history project wins national award

Morecambe Bay Partnership’s Oral History volunteers and their Fishing Traditions of Morecambe Bay Oral Archive project, have received a national accolade, picking up the ‘Inspiration Award’ at the Community Archive and Heritage Group Awards 2017 in London today.

Lighting up Blackpool with LOVEmyBEACH

Calling all Primary Schools!

The LOVEmyBEACH campaign has teamed up with Blackpool Council and their Illuminations curator Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to bring you an exciting opportunity open to primary school children across the North West.

Children from Key Stage 1 & 2, from a school within Blackpool, Cumbria, Lancashire, Sefton or Wirral are invited to design a LOVEmyBEACH poster promoting ways to help look after the beach. The winning design will then be transformed into a Blackpool Illumination, on display from 1st September until 5th November 2017.
