Heritage Skills Day - Leading a Good Guided Tour

Overton Memorial Hall

If you work as a volunteer with a heritage site or lead (or would like to lead) local history walks in your area, refresh your skills for giving a good tour. Presentation tips, managing groups around a site, sensible route planning and learn how to do risk assessments. This training will be led by Minerva Heritage who specialise in Heritage Interpretation. The training is FREE, but pre-booking is essential.

Heritage Skills Day - Learning to Record Oral History

Ford Park, Ulverston

 

Top tips for groups or individuals thinking of undertaking oral history projects. Learn about best practice, try out the technology and discover how to archive and process recordings properly so the memories are treasured and available in the long term. There will be plenty of chances for practical learning throughout the day. The day will be led by Jenn Mattinson, a specialist in Oral History, who is leading our own Fishing Heritage Oral History Project.
