Discover St Peter's Church & Heysham Head

Heritage Open Days 2017

Discover the extraordinary Grade 1 listed medieval church of St Peter's in Heysham Village and the amazing ruins of St Patrick's Chapel at Heysham Head. We are running two special guided tours in partnership with the Church for Heritage Open Days 2017. Booking required via Eventbrite.

Family archaeology activities will also be taking place in the nearby Parish Hall from 12 - 4pm with dig boxes and artefacts waiting to be identified

Heritage Skills Day - Leading a Good Guided Tour

If you work as a volunteer with a heritage site or lead (or would like to lead) local history walks in your area, refresh your skills for giving a good tour. Presentation tips, managing groups around a site, sensible route planning and learn how to do risk assessments. This training will be led by Minerva Heritage who specialise in Heritage Interpretation. The training is FREE, but pre-booking is essential.
