Bowness-on-Solway Beach Clean

Come and help volunteers remove rubbish from this long sandy beach which is within the Allonby Bay Marine Conservation Zone.  The Bay is valued for its reefs and mussel beds.  Crosscanonby is noted for its Roman fort, historic coastal saltpans and Crosscanonby Carr Nature Reserve within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Meet/park beside the minor road leading to Crosscanonby village from the B5300 coast road, signposted ‘Mile Fortlet 21′ one mile north of Maryport.

All equipment provided but wellies and waterproofs advisable.
