Archaeological survey - Rectory Woods, Heysham

Join a team of archaeologists from CITiZAN and Morecambe Bay Partnership and help us conduct a 'walkover survey' of the fascinating site of Rectory Woods, Heysham.

Full FREE training and equipment will be provided, as you help us identify and record archaeological features on National Trust land at Heysham.

The walkover survey will continue work strated last October and will involve using hand held gps, cameras and producing a written record of archaeological features contained at the site. This will produce an updated survey and help the National Trust have a better understanding of the site.

There is the option to either help for both days or for just one of the days. Booking essential via the CITiZAN website (see link below).

Help us clear bracken from Birkrigg Common, to help protect and conserve the important archaeological monuments that are hidden beneath (bracken clearance subject to bird survey results).
